These portable fume hoods are used to extract potentially harmful fumes released during the soldering process. They also include task lighting and work holding fixtures for use while soldering.

=== Safe Operating Procedure: ===

==== Before using: ====

* Make sure the fume hood is plugged in, turned on, and the filter media is properly installed.
* Always wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from molten solder and flying debris while soldering.

==== While using: ====

* Place the workpiece into the fixture, or if the workpiece is too large, place it near the front opening of the hood.
* Place the soldering pen holder near the opening as well, to capture any fumes released when not in use.
* When soldering, keep the pen and work close enough to the hood that fumes are adequately captured.

==== After using: ====

* Clean any debris or waste from the inside of the hood.
* Unplug and store the hood and power supply together.
