1. Materials

**Knitting needles** in size US 8 (5 mm)

1. Instructions

1. **Cast on** 6 stitches. 2. **Knit one row.** This means to insert your right needle into the first stitch on your left needle, wrap the yarn around the needle, and pull it through the stitch. Repeat this process for all 6 stitches on your left needle. 3. **Purl one row.** This means to insert your right needle into the back of the first stitch on your left needle, wrap the yarn around the needle, and pull it through the stitch. Repeat this process for all 6 stitches on your left needle. 4. **Repeat steps 2 and 3** until you have completed the desired length of your project.

1. **Knit two stitches together.** This means to insert your right needle into the first two stitches on your left needle, wrap the yarn around the needle, and pull it through both stitches. 2. **Knit one stitch.** 3. **Repeat steps 1 and 2** until you have one stitch left on your left needle. 4. **Cut the yarn and thread it through the last stitch.**

1. Tips

Hold your yarn loosely in your left hand and your knitting needles in your right hand.
Make sure your stitches are all the same size.
If you make a mistake, don't worry! Just unravel a few stitches and try again.
